Escape The Winters – Five Sarasota, Florida Condos

Have you ever wondered why so many people visit Florida during the winter time? It is pretty obvious – people trade the snow, clouds, ice and cold weather for sun, beaches, golf and tennis.

Have you ever been to Sarasota, Florida? If not you should consider this fabulous beach town. There are several barrier islands where you can walk along the beach, swim in the Gulf of Mexico, play several fabulous golf courses, dine in tasty restaurants, shop until your heart is content and soak up the gorgeous Florida sunshine. What a wonderful way to spend the winters. Why shovel snow and fight the bitter cold weather when you can spend the winter months affordably in Florida.

Off the coast of Sarasota, Florida are several fabulous barrier islands – Longboat Key, Lido Key, Siesta Key, Bird Key and Casey Key. All of them offer gorgeous beaches, abundance of outdoor activity, a variety of Sarasota real estate and a highly sought after quality of life. Here are five great Sarasota, Florida condos to escape the harsh cold winters of the northern United States:

1) Beachplace – This is one of the more popular condo destinations on Longboat Key. Located on the south end of the island vacationers can explore the shops and restaurants on St. Armands Circle and downtown Sarasota within minutes. Beachplace sits right on the beach and offers wonderful beach and water views. Amenities include tennis courts, beach, clubhouse, swimming pool. The minimum lease at Beachplace is 3 months.

2) Banyan Bay – This is a smaller, more quaint community near the north end of Longboat Key. It sits right on the beach so vacationers have easy access to fun, sun and the Gulf of Mexico. There are only 44 units here so you it is very peaceful and quiet. Amenities include the beach, swimming pool, clubhouse and tennis courts. Minimum lease is 3 months in Banyan Bay.

3) The Terrace – If you have ever been to Siesta Key Village then you are probably familiar with the Terrace condos. It is the high rise sitting on the beach and just outside the village. You can have wonderful views, easy access to the beach and be within walking distance to dining, drinks and shopping. You will rarely need to hop in the car. Almost everything you need is within walking distance. The Terrace condos require a 2 month minimum lease but I am sure you will probably want to stay longer.

4) Crystal Sands – If you ever seen this building then you probably have not forgotten about it. It is shaped like a wave. The units on the west side of the building have great views of Siesta Key beach and the Gulf of Mexico. Crystal Sands allows short term rentals. Amenities include beach access, water views, resort style swimming pool and clubhouse.

5) Key Tower South – Do not forget about Lido Key. This smaller but highly sought after barrier island is simply gorgeous. It is the closest key to downtown Sarasota and the airport. Key Tower South sits directly on the beach and all of the units facing west have breathtaking views of the water. Access to the beach is within a few footsteps right out the back door. Vacationers can rent a Key Tower South unit with a one month minimum lease. However, you may want to stay longer.
