If you are not annoyed by the noise of the fan, you can place the air conditioning unit even into the bedroom, but set it in such a way that it doesn’t inflict air currents directly above the bed.
In babies’ case, it is a little more complicated. Babies suffer because of the heat, are sensitive to it, wake up often during hot nights, so we can’t let them suffer like that and we need to find a solution. You should not let the baby play with his cubes, dolls or baby grand piano in direct contact with the constant current produced by the unit. There are three options : we place the air conditioning unit in the baby’s room and we let the room cool down when the baby is not there or we let it function constantly but we direct the air current correctly or we install the air conditioning somewhere in a hallway and we let it ventilate indirectly.

There’s the possibility of simply cooling down the walls, in case the house is properly isolated from the outside, so that the walls themselves will cool down room temperature without manipulation air drafts.
