5) Key Tower South - Do not forget about Lido Key. This smaller but highly sought after barrier island is simply gorgeous. It is the closest key to downtown Sarasota and the airport. Key Tower South sits directly on the beach and all of the units facing west have breathtaking views of the water. Access to the beach is within a few footsteps right out the back door. Vacationers can rent a Key Tower South unit with a one month minimum lease. However, you may want to stay longer.
